Jack Lord, born John Joseph Patrick Ryan, was an actor for TV, Broadway, and film. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 30, 1920. Jack Lord finished his studies at New York University under a football scholarship, where he graduated with a degree in Fine Arts. During his time making maritime training films, Jack became interested in acting.  Eventually, he landed roles in stage plays, including The Travelling Lady and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

Afterward, Jack landed film roles in Dr. No, The Red Menace, and Williamsburg: the Story of a Patriot. However, his portrayal of Detective McGarrett in Hawaii Five-O became the most associated with him. Back in 2008, Jack’s former Hawaii home was sold for a price of $800,000. The 3,500-square-foot property features two master suites, two bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a large living room.
