Robert De Niro, born in New York on August 17, 1943, is an American actor, director and producer. Robert Anthony De Niro Jr. gained the public’s attention with the film Mean Streets – this being the first of many collaborations with filmmaker Martin Scorsese. In 1974, Robert De Niro took on the role of Vito Corleone in The Godfather Part II, where he won an Academy Award for Best Actor.
