OZZY OSBOURNE | BORN 1948
Ozzy Osbourne, a pioneer of the Heavy Metal genre, hails from Birmingham, England, where he spent his formative years in the ’50s and ’60s before ascending to fame as the lead vocalist of Black Sabbath. The band, initially a heavy blues group, is often hailed as the progenitor of heavy metal. Osbourne was an integral part of Black Sabbath from their eponymous debut through to their seventh album, “Technical Ecstasy.”
He then forged a successful solo path, releasing 13 studio albums, with the first seven receiving multi-platinum certifications. In 1997, he orchestrated a reunion with Black Sabbath, culminating in the 2013 album “13.” At the age of 75, Osbourne shows no signs of stopping; he continues to tour, create music, and as of 2022, he introduced his latest work, “Patient Number 9,” to the world.
